A YOUNG woman has tragically died after a crash in the early hours in south Essex.
Police were called to the junction of Pipps Hill Road and Oak Road in Billericay at around 12.40am yesterday (April 25) following a single-car crash.
Four people were taken to hospital.
Sadly, a 19-year-old woman from Romford has since died. Essex Police says her family are aware and will continue to receive support.
A 19 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a crash.
Detectives from the force's serious collision investigation unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the collision and appealing to anyone who may have any CCTV or dashcam to contact them.
