POLICE are on the scene of a serious crash with a Thorpe Bay road shut off.
Officers have closed Maplin Way while emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
The closure appears to be near the seafront end of Maplin Way.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are currently at the scene of a serious collision in Thorpe Bay.
"There is a road closure in place in Maplin Way while emergency services work at the scene.
"Please avoid the area if you can.
"Thank you for your patience."
